US Consulate Visits outside Kyiv

I dunno about most Americans, but I get these e-mails all the time.... I guess I could post them here? For example:

Dear Friends and Wardens:

We would like to invite interested U.S. citizens in Odesa and the surrounding area to meet with a U.S. Consular Officer for routine ACS services on Friday, September 30, at the Londonskaya hotel.  The Officer will be available from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. in the hotel lobby.  Londonskaya hotel is located at 11 Primorsky Blvd. in Odesa. Please note that the services will not be provided after 11:00 a.m.  Please plan your visit accordingly and come as early in the hour as possible.

The Consular Officer will be able to provide limited citizen services on-site.  These include notary services and acceptance of passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad applications. In addition to any required documents listed on our website, please make sure you have photocopies of all your originals and translations with you. If you need a passport for someone under the age of 16, please understand that in almost every circumstance both parents and the child must come in person to submit the application.  Please note that all of the fees must be paid in exact change in U.S. dollars only.

All services will be provided by appointment only.  To make an appointment, please email your full name, passport number, date of birth and type of service you are requesting to kyivacs@state.govor call us at +38-044-521-5566 before 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016.  You can get in touch with us using the same phone number and email address if you have any questions about any of the services that will be available.

In Russia we only had two TV channels. Channel One was propaganda. Channel Two consisted of a KGB officer telling you: Turn back at once to Channel One. Yakov Smirnoff

Thanks as always for posting this. 

I know it's not your fault (as you don't control the embassy's written material). 

But these embassy updates are so poorly written.  When I was at the embassy I got the sense that jobs are given to friends and girlfriends of the higher-ups, and little of what can be done to help assist expats is actually done.
