I need to ship an about suitcase-sized box with about 30 kg out of Ukraine.  What would be the best way to do this?  I am a little skeptical about Ukraine Post Office etc. because the shipment will probably get "lost".  Thanks!

If you have a recommendation for a company that you have used personally, then please let us all know the contact details. This is one of the prime reasons expatua exists today - to enable the exchange of useful information (as well as some lighthearted and friendly banter coupled with the occasional heated debate that simmers for a few days until peace reigns tranquil once more).

But in general parcel shipping is expensive from Ukraine to France/Germany, if you compare with a full truck. Parcel shipping is not well developped, that's a big logistics problem between Ukraine and the West.
Example :
One truck from Ukraine to France, 28 tons : 2600 euros,
One crate of 295 kilos, Dimensions : 1,2мх 0,8м х1,5h = 500 euros

It seems the prices are such that it is cheaper to buy a plain ticket and accompany the parcel.  Also then saves on custom duties at destination

Nova Posta? They do international deliveries, so far out of Kyiv and maybe by now more cities.

Nova Poshta indeed has international service.  But outside the post-Soviet countries its tariffs are similar to DHL Express, i.e. buying a return plane ticket and delivering yourself is cheaper :-\

Are you sure about that? Maybe not to(or from your location) your destination but as a blanket statement your comment is wrong.
I am sure I have seen Meest office accepting  parcels  -- but  -- you are doing it--I am only theorising!

My next try would be TNT

That's not what I am seeing on Meest's internet site:

Indeed they can DELIVER FROM Ukraine but only to Canada and the US:

Thanks.  Yes, I was looking for other countries.

So as prices for shipping things from Ukraine abroad are ridiculously high, this seems to be a great business opportunity for an entrepreneurial expat.ua member.  Or somebody who wants to travel the world for free because delivery as checked-in luggage is cheaper than what the companies charge ;)
