Who knows of a teacher in Kyiv who can help me advance in Ukrainian language.....without costing a arm, leg or left nut

I am not an expert in this area, but have you considered posting on OLX to exchange lessons English for Ukrainian/Russian?

That's the way I'd go about it.  I did that when I first came to Ukraine, but my wife now forbids it because of the young wide-eyed girls that wanted to be my "teacher."

But I can say that system works.

I do not know if it is legal to post links here... So i won't

But I just signed up for a lesson, with an outfit that seems
very legit. Teacher will spend an hour, either in person or
via Skype. Her fee was $9.30 US.

They have many tutors, and you can pick and choose,
interview, find the right fit.

Hair... either PM me, or if a mod says it's OK, I will post a link here.

If it's something that will benefit others, post the link.

In Russia we only had two TV channels. Channel One was propaganda. Channel Two consisted of a KGB officer telling you: Turn back at once to Channel One. Yakov Smirnoff

Thank God you responded to that Mike.   I kept coming back to this thread wondering if I should post the photo of the dominatrix giving language lessons via Skype.    I've been crying all morning from laughter thinking about it.   The photo was borderline -- but extremely funny -- you saved me from myself and my twisted sense of humor.

We're going to have to meet up for a brew or three sometime and see who gets to claim the title.

That's high IMO especially for online tutors.  But I don't live in the big city so what do I know?

USD 9 is much much much much too high.  Just calculate what a monthly salary of 300-500 USD p.m. comes to per hour
