In Russia we only had two TV channels. Channel One was propaganda. Channel Two consisted of a KGB officer telling you: Turn back at once to Channel One. Yakov Smirnoff

Has not that $100k always applied?

The question asked years ago was whether buying real estate as your main residence counted towards (or, in some cases, exceeded the magic $100k) that limit?

Who on earth would want to get Ukrainian citizenship for 100,000 USD when there are so many other, much cheaper and easier methods for foreigners who want to live in Ukraine?

No one with any sense BUT the option is there. Let's talk about it since that's what we're here for. Many of us are tired of the Trump's innocence and the Corona virus posts.

I believe you will find the majority of the regulars have indeed purchased property, some many years ago that may now well be worth much more than $100k today. Does that count in some way, for example?

Finally, the Brits UK passports will soon become third rate. Should this be the case and Ukraine joins the EU (cough, cough), a UA passport will be a better option for those sad, battered Brits.

From what I remember the 100K is the amount invested into Ukraine. It's not purchasing the citizenship unlike Cyprus ect. It seems that they've just simplified the paperwork some.

Ukraine is very close to the US IIRC in the number of countries that are visa free to enter. I saw something about a year ago and I believe the number was 125 or so for Ukraine and 140 for the US.  So I'm sure that there are people that would like the increase of free travel.
