British Embassy Kyiv - Coronavirus

UK Embassy on FB : COVID-19 Ukraine Specific Travel Advice Q&As

We now strongly recommend that if you live in the UK and are currently travelling abroad, whether working or on holiday, you should return now, where and while there are still commercial routes available.

International travel is becoming more difficult with the closure of land borders and further restrictions, such as on freedom of movement, are being introduced daily.

If you decide to stay, there may not be options in the future to return, given the unprecedented conditions that we face.

If you normally live in Ukraine, we advise that you stay here.

and

Will there be any penalty for overstaying a 90-day visa free term in Ukraine?

According to the Ukrainian State Migration Service, there will be no penalties for foreigners who were staying in Ukraine legally when restrictions on leaving the country were introduced and have since been unable to leave. This measure is limited to the period for which travel restrictions are in force.

Please check our Ukraine travel advice for updates.

Every time I see the word MIGRATION I think of ducks, and shotguns and dinner.
Peace is the failure of the military to convince the government that it can and should kick its enemies ass.

Yeah, but I doubt that the Brit's would be as tasty..
In Russia we only had two TV channels. Channel One was propaganda. Channel Two consisted of a KGB officer telling you: Turn back at once to Channel One. Yakov Smirnoff

Ukraine's border closures to foreigners are extended, but the news about the order is unclear about the duration.  It was a two week closure, before, but news stories about the new order include no expiry date.  Is this now an indefinite closure?  Does it go to the same date as the internal "Quarantine" ?
Is there any information about when Ukraine will be open again?

We were listening to our clown president today and from what he was saying, I figured that they mean to keep the special measures in place (and that includes borders closed for all humans) till April 27th.

I understand there was one prescient episode of "Servant of the People" in which Kyiv became a ghost town, devoid of people except an oligarch trying to claim empty buildings.

In reality, whether or not Kyiv is a ghost town (city), there is ALWAYS an oligarch claiming buildings, including private residences, whether empty or not.

Update:   Ukraine borders closed. However, complete closure is not expected

The one place where you would expect the latest information to the minute appears to be somewhat lagging. Perhaps a check later will confirm.
