Title: "Kyiv. The city to come back."
Post by: richok on 14:42 10-Dec-2010
Was I the only one who noticed the grievous grammatical error in the newly proposed brand/slogan of Kyiv? I just sent a letter the editor to Korrespondent magazine. Hopefully they will publish it and someone will quietly add a "to" to the end of the phrase before it's too late.

I find this doubly amusing because the actual meaning of the slogan is exactly how they don't want to brand Kyiv: a city that, some day, will "come back" from ... what? (perhaps "the ashes?").

Pretty crap branding

And ending it in a preposition is pretty sloppy.

too.

Some more ideas:

"Kyiv. The city where to find true love."
"Kyiv. Capital of largest country in Europe."
"Kyiv. Cheaper than Moscow."
"Kyiv. Where the beer is hot and the chicks flow freely."
"Kyiv. Not Kiev."
